I purchased a new car and the same day we had a massive hailstorm. My insurance will not pay. Help!!?
So here’s the deal. My hubby and I purchased a new vehicle on March 25th. My hubby was unavailable to sign that day so I went in and signed the papers and picked up the car. A few short hours later we have a horrible hail storm with golf ball sized hail. It came out of nowhere. I have full coverage insurance on my other vehicle. Of course the dealership wanted proof of my coverage. I tried to add the vehicle but my insurance would not add it until all of the finance paperwork had been signed. Well, the car got pretty banged up in the hail storm. I contacted my salesman and he told me my insurance would cover it. I called them and they told me no they would not cover any damage since the car was not on the policy that day. So I called the salesman again and he gave me some crap story that my insurance should cover me and to speak with a supervisor. I do not know what to do. Here I am with a new car with major hail damage. Who should take care of this? I need some advice.
I tried to add the vehicle to my policy but was told I could not. My salesman told me it would be covered since I already had full coverage. Shouldn’t the dealership pay since it should be covered under them still?
I could not add it to my policy until my hubby signed his portion which was done a few days later., more
